What do you do? I lead the work around extended schools and am a member of the senior school leadership team. This involves working with students, parents and community services to deliver the core offer of the Every Child Matters outcomes.

Describe a typical week. It will involve leading school assembly,hosting a coffee morning for parents, ensuring fitness, education,wellbeing and other courses are running, meeting with other schools,mentoring students, attending management meetings and line managingstaff.

What was the highlight of the past week? Hosting a celebration event fora course for girls that focused on raising their self-esteem andself-image. It was inspiring to hear the changes it had made to theirlives.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Being able to help createchange and pioneer new ways of working across different services.

What is the hardest aspect of your job? Being prevented from achievingimproved outcomes for young people by bureaucracy and servicelimitations.
