Workplace: Who's in your meetings - Jane Popplewell, regionaldirector, Kids

1 min read
What do you do? I am the new regional director for Kids Yorkshire and the Humber, one of five Kids' regions around the country providing inclusive services for disabled children and their families.

What was the highlight of the past week? Across the summer holidayperiod we provide a holiday play scheme for up to 250 young disabledpeople aged eight to 18. Bowling and swimming are always voted the mostpopular choices of activities. Watching the fun they had splashing aboutat the local water park is a great part of my job.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? Working for the voluntarysector can provide a very real sense of being in touch with the everydayissues of the families we work with. It sounds rather trite to say"making a difference" but it does feel like that.
