What do you do? I manage a project that extends services to vulnerable and socially excluded groups.

We work with a range of specialist service providers and are hoping todevelop a franchise approach with frontline practitioners deliveringParentline Plus education and courses.

What was the highlight of the past week? We had a pilot running, whichwas a deaf parenting group. Everything was being done by British SignLanguage interpreters and this was quite a new experience for thetrainers and some of the deaf participants.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? There is not muchrepresentation as a deaf Asian man, so it is good to come into anorganisation and realise you can help influence some decisions.

What is the toughest decision you have had to take in your career? I waspreviously offered a job as a campaigns officer in a deaf organisation.I was keen on the job but I really wanted to get into a mainstreamorganisation. That is difficult for a deaf person because it is quitecompetitive, and it was hard turning down a job.
