Workplace: Who's in your meetings? - Sonya Chowdhury, deputyco-ordinator, Off The Record, Bath and northeast Somerset

1 min read
What do you do? I work for Off The Record, a charity that provides information, advice and counselling for young people under 25. Within my role I line-manage the commissioned services, which are children's rights and advocacy, and young carers' and young parents' services.

Describe a typical day. Strategic work often floods my day, involvinglots of meetings and paperwork. I also support and supervise staff andget to do exciting things like managing the budgets. But I love what Ido.

What other agencies and who else within your organisation do you workwith? I work independently from, but closely with, other agencies suchas social services, health, education and, not least, alongside ourclients.

This is imperative to achieving what we do. We have excellent links withother voluntary sector organisations like Barnardo's.

I am also vice chair of the Children's Rights Officers and Advocatesorganisation, so get to work with people across England and Wales.
