What do you do? I manage a residential children's home for eight children with emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Describe a typical day. No two days are ever the same. On one day I maycome in, receive a handover from a team manager, check post and reply toemails, then liaise with other professionals regarding the children inour care. On another day I may need to work with the staff in assistinga child to attend education, spend time supporting them in school, maybefitting in a supervision session with a member of staff and thenshopping for a reward when a child has managed really well.

What other agencies and who else within your organisation do you workwith? I work with social workers and placement officers from localauthorities. I liaise with both health and educational staff. I workwith other Hillcrest homes and generally require some assistance fromhead office at least once a day.
