1 min read
What do you do? My role is to lead, manage and develop the school nursing service and ensure it is meeting the needs of children in Oldham.

What was the highlight of the past week? I'm currently involved in theplanning of a sexual health awareness campaign that is launching inDecember. It is an important campaign and I'm enjoying being involved. We are planning to incorporate a campaign bus used by youth services andposition it in Oldham town centre.

What is the most rewarding aspect of your job? The most rewarding iswhen a young person who is deemed vulnerable is able to build up theirconfidence with the help of a school nurse who can then act as anadvocate for them.

What is the hardest aspect of your job? When you meet a child who isreally unhappy and no matter what you do concerns still remain. That canbe hard to deal with.
