What does it mean: Pedagogy is the ancient Greek word for education and literally translated means "to lead the child". In this day and age the term is used to refer to the theory of education and different models of teaching. This includes teaching strategies, activities and exercises used to impart knowledge and skills to learners. The phrase social pedagogy is also used frequently by workers in the field of social care and refers to the different activities and methods that practitioners use to work effectively with clients.
