Have you sat through an entire meeting and wondered what your colleagues are rambling on about? Use our handy jargon guide to find out what they mean Asset

Where you might hear it: From anyone involved in youth justice.

What does it mean: Asset is an assessment tool used by professionals in youth offending teams. It is used to assess young offenders' circumstances. The assessment tool works on the principle that if you identify what caused a young person to come into contact with the youth justice system in the first place, you can prevent it from happening again in the future.
