THE NATIONAL YOUTH AGENCY: Service managers to get assessmenttools

The Framework for the Development of Young People, originally developed through the Neighbourhood Support Fund, has been sent out to principal youth officers and is also currently being trialled with a range of other youth work agencies to ensure its appropriateness for wider use. Youthbase, The NYA's new IT management information system will include a computerised option for using the framework.

Youthbase has been developed to help youth service managers collect and use data in standardised form and will be distributed in CD-Rom format to local authorities for use from April 2003. It will enable all units operating across an authority to use the tool in assessing and recording progress.
