A number of users have asked about alternative platforms for the software. The NYA has taken the view that the immediate priority is to resolve outstanding problems with software design - hence the investment in version 2.6. The NYA recognises that the software needs to evolve and consequently is seeking a much stronger involvement from users. It is exploring several options for the long-term financing and management of YouthBase. Decisions about costs and new software platforms will be taken with users.
Alongside this decision The Agency has increased its support for new and emerging users of the software, and has employed Roger Morford in a customer support role. The National Youth Agency remains committed to YouthBase and to making sure it continues to support the wider management of information in local authority youth services.
