The National Youth Agency: Access - 'Bothered?' - project identifies gaps in provision

1 min read
The NYA has established the Young Researcher Network (YRN), a partnership with 15 youth organisations to value, support and encourage research led by young people.

With the training phase complete, the 15 groups will research a range of different issues. In the latest of our series of profiles we take a look at a project overseen by Signposts that focuses on young people's rights alongside the government promise of positive activities and places to go and things to do for young people within their communities.

The "Are They Bovvard?" project is working with a group of young people in Morecambe, Lancashire to determine what services are available locally for them, and to identify gaps within the existing provision.

One aim is to locate the barriers preventing young people from accessing and participating in the activities provided for them, while also looking for ways to make such provision more appealing or accessible.
