The National Youth Agency: Access - How should services be shaped for tomorrow?

1 min read
The NYA has established the Young Researcher Network (YRN), a partnership with 15 youth organisations to value, support and encourage research led by young people. With the training phase complete, the 15 groups will research a range of different issues.

In the latest of our series of profiles we take a look at a project overseen by Leicester City Council Youth Services that investigates young people's experiences of youth services and specifically to find out what future services should be like in Leicester.

- Future Youth Services came about after discussions into whether local services were truly meeting local need. The project involves a core group of young people undertaking an extensive survey among their peers, plus interviews with decision makers and adults who work with young people, allowing young people to create models and designs for a future youth centre. Results are due to be published in DVD/CD format and will include a video diary from the research project group and clips from the focus groups. A full written version of the report will also be made available.
