Nature-loving young people in east London went on the hunt for creepy crawlies last week. The children were taking part in Creepy Crawly Week, organised by Tower Hamlets Council. They spent time hunting bugs and spiders with a sweep net and chasing butterflies as part of the half-term activity. Those taking part joined spider expert Edward Milner on his quest to find the rare Mile End spider, officially known as Araneus Alsine, which is only found in a few places across the UK. Other activities included pond dipping, tree shaking, drawing and bug passport making. The experience allowed the young people to explore nature and the wildlife in their local park.
