Goalball game kicks off sports club action

Blind and partially sighted children learned to play goalball - a sport originally created to rehabilitate soldiers blinded in warfare - at the launch of a new sports club for visually impaired children in Bristol.

The Bristol Actionnaires club, which is run by Action for Blind People, is set to offer a range of sports, mainly aimed at children aged between eight and 16. Rebecca Frost, Action for Blind People's sports development officer for the South West, said many visually impaired children across the UK were missing out on sport.
