- What is Action for Blind People?
Action for Blind People is a national charity that supports blind and partially sighted people. It aims to break down the barriers that prevent visually impaired people from achieving the same opportunities as sighted people.
- How does it help children?
It runs Actionnaires, the largest sports project for visually impaired children and young people in the UK. Actionnaires clubs help build children's sporting abilities to enable them to take part in mainstream sports. There are currently 29 clubs in England and Wales, providing a range of activities for eight- to 16-year-olds.
- What roles are available?
More than 500 people work for the charity, with almost 100 in the sports team. This includes development managers and officers, an administrator and around 60 club co-ordinators, as well as a network of coaches and volunteers.
