Healthy eating: NDNA kicks off breakfast drive

The National Day Nurseries Association has launched a month-long campaign to highlight the importance of children eating a healthy breakfast.

Big Breakfast Month, which runs throughout July, will encouragenurseries to stage breakfasts based on the theme of "breakfast fromaround the world".

The campaign kicked off with a US-themed breakfast at a nursery run byWestminster Children's Society last week. It was attended by children'sminister Beverley Hughes.

Purnima Tanuku, chief executive of the association, said: "Nurseries arekey in helping children learn habits that last a lifetime and BigBreakfast Month is a positive way to promote this."
