Substance Misuse: Youth service asks for help with policy

The policy, which gives advice on how to handle evidence of illegal drug use and underage drinking and smoking, was launched at a one-day conference in Cardiff last week.

A group of 12 young people from Radyr was invited to the conference to give its views on the new guidelines, which cover the city's 22 youth centres.

Alisha Newman, youth worker at Radyr Youth and Community Centre, said: "Young people want to know the circumstances when a youth worker will break confidentiality. There's a big difference between having a drink and turning up (at a youth centre) blind drunk, and they thought the guidelines should reflect that."
