Climate change is real. The polar regions are disappearing at a rate that can only be described as catastrophic for the future, and this demise is something I've seen first-hand. I'm a One Young World Ambassador and I was 14 when I attempted to become the youngest person in history to ski to the North Pole.

An early break-up of the Arctic sea ice nearly spelt death for me and my guide on the Arctic Ocean. I fell through the ice three times, faced frostbitten toes and hypothermia.

Now it's my mission to inspire and inform young people about climate change. I'm urging young people to get involved with our campaign The Last Degree, and join our global network of young people working together towards a sustainable future. I'm also planning another polar expedition for next March. It's vital that we all take climate change, and what we can do about it, seriously.
