
I was eight years old and felt like giving up.
Mum and dad had tried everything and the school was struggling to help me too. But then things started to change after my parents contacted Changing Faces, a charity that supports and represents people who have disfigurements. After meeting other children with disfigurements, receiving support from Changing Faces and learning how to handle other people's reactions, my confidence returned.
I am now part of the Children's Faces Equality campaign, which aims to change society's stereotypes about disfigurements.
I am happy with the way I look and proud of who I am. I want to show the world that disfigurements are not disabling, but that people's attitudes towards them can be.
