I am the sole carer for my mum who has chronic depression. There are good days when she's happy, but then bad days when she'll stay in bed and cry.

All my friends go out on the weekend but I can't go because I have to sit with my mum. I don't get much of a social life compared with other people my age.

On a good day, I'll come home from school and my tea will be done. On a bad day nothing will be done all the pots will need washing and I'll make our tea. I text Mum during the day to see if she's alright I've had my phone taken off me loads at school because of texting in lessons.

I attend a youth club for young carers, funded by the Big Lottery Fund and run by the Eastern Ravens Trust. You get used to being a young carer but there are times when you get really sick of it all. Eastern Ravens give advice and listen.
