I was one of 30 finalists awarded a place on an intensive workshop, held at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, where we produced an outfit inspired by the upcoming 2008 and 2012 Olympics in Beijing and London.
The outfit I designed was a blue and white mini-dress. The judges said it combined originality with sporty simplicity and evoked Chinese porcelain in its choice of colours.
I am really looking forward to my prize - a work placement at the Tesco clothing design studios where I will work alongside experienced fashion professionals.
I hope Fashion Awareness Direct continues to motivate students and encourage them in pursuing their chosen careers, because that is what it has done for me.
