NCB Now: Keeping on top of UK-wide policy

1 min read
We asked policy officer Zoe Renton how NCB is working in partnership with organisations in the devolved nations to keep us up-to-date with developments across the whole of the UK.

How can we find out about UK-wide child policy?

There is a free, monthly, UK-wide email bulletin that offers the latest news, including consultations, governmental policy documents and legislation. It is run by the 4 Nations Child Policy Network, which is a partnership between NCB, Children in Northern Ireland, Children in Scotland and Children in Wales.

Why is it important?

At a glance, the reader can get an overview of the key policy announcements that month, with brief descriptions and links to more detailed information. They can find out about developments in Whitehall that affect the UK as a whole. However, the majority of policy areas relevant to children and young people - such as education, children's services and health - are devolved. So, with the bulletin, those living and working in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland or Wales can learn more about developments in other nations that may be relevant to their work or study.
