The summit, which took place in the Parliament Buildings, Belfast, was addressed by Gerry Kelly MLA, junior minister responsible for children in the new Northern Ireland government and chaired by Patricia Lewsley, Commissioner for Children in Northern Ireland.
The Directors of Play England, Play Scotland, Play Wales and Sugradh, Republic of Ireland, were present along with staff from government departments and key children's agencies. They discussed the development of creative play policies that will benefit children and young people in each of the five parts of the British Isles.
