- Ofsted consults on future of inspection
Ofsted is consulting on new arrangements for school inspections. The body is proposing to reduce the notice period given before an inspection to 48 hours and to cut the length of inspection from one week to two or three days. Ofsted believes the changes would give inspectors a more realistic view of schools. Ofsted is inviting comments on all aspects of these proposals, especially on new models of inspection, the principle of giving notice and the views of parents, children and young people. The consultation deadline is 8 April 2004.
