Over the course of the past 10 months, the board has looked at a number of different policy areas, including:
Healthy lifestyles
At the very first residential, the board was thrown straight in at the deep end and was asked to look at healthy lifestyles, in particular looking at what schools and colleges could do to persuade children and young people to adopt a healthier lifestyle, through more physical activity and healthier eating. The board explored what motivates children and young people to adopt a healthy lifestyle. Views were also gathered on the role of government in promoting healthy lifestyles.
Sustainable schools
The sustainable schools team came to the second residential in Birmingham and asked the board what more the government, schools, local communities and individuals could be doing to address a number of key environmental issues.
