NCB: Interview - Keeping up to date in 2008

1 min read
Nicola Hillard, head of library and information services

The NCB library houses the UK's most comprehensive and multi- disciplinary collection of resources on children and young people in the UK. We asked Nicola Hillard, head of library and information services about future developments in the sector and how to keep up-to-date with them.

- What do you think will be some of the big issues for the sector in 2008?

The Children's Plan will be a hot topic, particularly the development and delivery of a play strategy. Then there is the task of reducing the numbers of children and young people in custody.

Although raising the school leaving age to 18 won't come into force until 2013, I think there will be a lot of discussion on how this will work.
