NCB Now: NCB library service holds open day

NCB's Library and Information Service held a free information day for voluntary organisations, universities, colleges and individual members on 15 November.

Members discovered how to make best use of the library, which houses thelargest collection of resources about children's and young people'sissues in the UK.

A series of short presentations provided an overview of differentaspects of the library's services, including Children in the News, apress monitoring service.

Delegates also learnt more about ChildData, an online resource givingusers access to relevant press coverage, details of events, informationon child care organisations and a catalogue of more than 66,000 recordsof books, reports and articles.

"I found the day to be very informative," said one member. "I came withthe idea of getting a full view of NCB which I will be able todisseminate to colleagues."
