MY LIFE: Opal Jordan, 10, Battersea

1 min read
I'm a very good netball player. I play goal attack - I'm good at shooting, marking and getting into space. I have scored over 500 goals, not in one season though. I scored 218 in two hours once, practising with my mum and my sister. Netball sort of runs in the family.

I couldn't be captain because I'm already a house captain. But I want to play netball for England one day - I'm going to see England versus Australia soon, to see how they play.

Football and rugby are more popular sports than netball. They are boys' sports really. It is kind of sad. I've only seen netball once or twice on the TV but some people are really, really good and nobody gets to see it.

When I'm not playing netball my hobbies are acting, dancing and writing stories. The last story I wrote was for the entrance exam - it was a story about the countryside. I didn't have much time, but I wrote two whole sides. I was happy about that. I'm going to be in a play soon - Sweeney Todd - about the barber who kills people. I get to do two dances. I'm really looking forward to it.
