My Life: Sade Petrie, 9, White City

1 min read
I am an only child, but my cousin is like my sister. She is called Lashe and lives across the road from me. We go to the park, talk about girly stuff and play on scooters. I don't know my dad, but my mum is nice and kind. If I ask for clothes she gets them for me, though not right away, and she helps if I'm stuck on doing stuff.

She's a make-up artist. I went to her studio once and helped her put her stuff where she wanted it. She does hair as well, but not always.

She mostly does mine. She does it like R Kelly. You take single plaits, then you plait them together to make four corn rows.

I like going to school and to the children's centre. My favourite sport is football and I'm in my school team. I think I'm good, being the only girl in our squad. All the rest are boys. Because I'm a tomboy, I mostly like playing with boys.

I want to be a professional football player. I love Arsenal. I like Thierry Henry when he goes "va va voom". I also like David Beckham. He's cool how he plays football and stuff. My ambition is to play with Beckham in a mixed team, not an all-girls team.
