RIEP
Where you might hear it: From anyone in the public sector.
What does it mean: RIEP stands for regional improvement and efficiency partnership. RIEPs, which were launched earlier this year and replace the regional improvement partnerships and regional centres of excellence, are intended to act as centres of expertise for councils. Representatives from every council in a region take part in their local RIEP, which aims to support improvement, innovation and efficiency across the area. The chief executive from every RIEP also represents councils' interests nationally, through the chief executives task force, which drives improvement by working with central government.
How to use it: Find out what your RIEP is doing to improve efficiency in your local authority.
