Schools with a poor "emotional environment" are putting children'sgrades at risk, according to James Park, Antidote's director. Thecharity aims to help improve achievement in primary schools byidentifying the causes of unhappiness in schools and working out how torectify the situation.

"If staff and pupils don't feel safe or listened to, schooling willsuffer," claims Park. "The aim of our work is to shape the emotionalenvironment of schools and by doing so make it possible for them todeliver the five Every Child Matters outcomes."
