The overhaul of services would lead to children being identified andgetting help more quickly, along the lines of the tiered English model,according to experts (Children Now, 6-12 July).
The Bamford Review of Mental Health and Learning Disability alsohighlighted the lack of appropriate facilities, recruitment problems andthe need for expanded services, describing current ones as "whollyinadequate".
Pauline Leeson, director of Children in Northern Ireland, said shebelieved recommendations would be implemented, but that money to fundthem had yet to be promised.
