Health News: Mental health - Northern Ireland to get servicereview

Moves are under way to review the extent of child and adolescent mental health services in Northern Ireland for the first time, Children Now has learned.

The project is to be part of a package of reforms introduced followinglast year's Bamford Review, which highlighted chronic underinvestment inyoung people's services in the province.

A spokeswoman from the Department of Health, Social Services and PublicSafety said: "The department's intention is to map all aspects of theservice including what is provided, where this is being provided and thenumbers and grades of staff."
