25% of babies wholly or partially breastfed at six to eight weeks in 2002/03 (36.5 per cent in Scotland)

48.3 pregnancies per 1,000 girls aged 13 to 19 in 2001/02 (43.2 in Scotland)

71% of children aged 0 to 17 registered with a general dental service practice December 2003 (66 per cent in Scotland)

87.3% of two-year-olds vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella in 2003 (86.9 per cent in Scotland)

The performance of Argyll and Clyde health board at improving breast-feeding rates in West Dunbartonshire has been poor. The number of babies breastfed at their six- to eight-week assessment has improved slightly.

However the area continues to remain bottom of the five councils the board comprises.
