Since figures on the teenage pregnancy strategy were first collected in1998, the conception rate in the London borough has dropped by 22.7 percent. This represents 14 fewer girls conceiving, with figures fallingfrom 135 in 1998 to 121 in 2004. However the most successful year was1999, one year before work to implement the national strategy began,when there were only 103 conceptions, a rate of 38.3.
