Since figures on the teenage pregnancy strategy were first collected in1998, the conception rate in Walsall has dropped by 27.5 per cent.
The rate fell steadily to its current level, with the biggest fallbetween 2003 and 2004. The number of conceptions fell from 59.6conceptions per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 17 in 2003 to 48.7 in 2004.
