Youth Work Participation
In September, I was given the rare opportunity to visit parliament and interview MPs and peers on stories of democracy. I interviewed Lord Fowler, Baroness Shephard, Louise Mensch, Simon Hughes, Lord Bilimoria, Lord Ramsbotham and Lord Hall.

As a young ambassador for the education charity Filmclub, which is incorporating my interviews into a film for Parliament Week, my role was to find out how the MPs and peers have made a difference, and also how young people could make a difference and participate in democracy, even without a vote.

I left hoping to become an MP. From listening to these people, I realised pursuing something you’ve always wanted to can be beneficial to others. I can’t vote, but I do have a voice that I shouldn’t be afraid to use.
