Shivam, 15, London

My name is Shivam. I am 15 years old. I have Down's syndrome but don't know what it means. I live in Stanmore and go to Shaftesbury High School. I enjoy going to school and have lots of friends.

My favourite sports are football, cricket, tennis but I love swimming the best. I like helping my mum in the house. I have a three-month-old baby niece called Anjali.

I hate shopping and I'm scared of heights and animals - especially birds. I don't like someone bullying me and I would like to be a teacher when I get older.

I wish I could count money, but I find that difficult. My parents teach me but I can't remember. I find it difficult to talk smoothly as I stammer, and wish I could talk like everyone else. I am pleased to be an ambassador for the Ready Willing and Mobile competition, helping to make young people aware of disability, and I look forward to the awards at the Mobility Roadshow in June.
