Having outlined how localauthorities should assess local childcare needs, the Government is nowconsulting on guidance explaining how to secure sufficient childcare forworking parents. The four key steps to sufficiency - analysing demand,mapping supply, mapping supply to demand, and securing sufficiency - areplaced within the broader Every Child Matters joint planning andcommissioning framework.
