I hear we're getting new guidance on school exclusions. Yes - and it'sout for consultation, as are draft regulations on the provision offull-time education for excluded pupils and reintegrationinterviews.
The Education and Inspections Act 2006 inserted a new part into theguidance relating to behaviour and discipline, including provisionsspecific to exclusions that come into force in September.
What's new? The introduction to the draft guidance sets out what haschanged, covering areas like record keeping, reintegration, drug-relatedexclusions and unofficial exclusions. To those who get the consultationby post, there is also a section on revised guidance and regulations foreducation-related parenting contracts and orders. This does not seem tobe available on the web.
