Two: a duty to make arrangements to safeguard and promote the welfare ofchildren. Three: guidance and regulations on the children and youngpeople's plan (the first of which kicks off in April 2006). Four: therole and responsibilities of the director of children's services and thelead member for children. And five: linked to number two, a consultationon updating the Working Together to Safeguard Children guidance from1999, which includes a chapter on local safeguarding childrenboards.
