BACK PAGE: Last word

Most of the time, work can be fairly uneventful. Although working with young people and youth workers can certainly never be described as boring, like all jobs things can get a bit repetitive after awhile.

So I try not to miss any opportunity to do something different. And I certainly had a very different experience last week. Tracy, one of my youth workers, took me as her guest to the National Training Awards in Cambridge. This turned out to be the most glittering event I've ever been to. It was so posh I had to hire a dinner jacket.

And we had a really great time. It was so nice to be looked after for a night. We had a good meal and a glass or two of complimentary champagne.
