Like many other lesbian and gay youth groups, we don't give out details of where we meet. Instead, young people call us up on our mobile phone and we then agree to meet them at some other place so we can check them out first.
You might think this sounds a bit overcautious. But we do it to maintain a safe environment by trying to ensure we don't allow trouble to come knocking on our door.
And apart from the occasional abusive call, we've managed to stay trouble-free for a long time now, which is something the young people who use the group value as much as the youth workers do.
