BACK PAGE: And this is what I do - Andy Wise, education adviser onsocial inclusion, County Durham

1 min read

What are your responsibilities? I work on a senior management team of six people, including three YOT managers, to develop strategies to meet targets. My responsibility is for education. The main target set by the Youth Justice Board is to ensure 90 per cent of young offenders or those at risk of offending are re-engaged in full-time education, employment or training by December 2004.

Who is in your meetings? We work in a multi-agency way, so every day I meet with people from the education service, YOT officers, welfare officers, head of access services and other agencies and partnerships such as Connexions. Multi-agency partnerships are key to what we do to help advocate on behalf of young people.
