A review of work being carried out in Hackney found that assessments of the risk young offenders posed to the public were inaccurate in 44 per cent of cases.
Overall, safeguarding aspects of work were found to be done well 47 per cent of the time against a national average of 68 per cent.
Work to reduce the risk of harm to others was done satisfactorily 43 per cent of the time, against a national average of 63 per cent, and work to reduce the likelihood of re-offending was done satisfactorily 58 per cent of the time, against an average of 71 per cent.
