
The team received some of the highest scores ever handed out to a youth offending team by HM Inspectorate of Probation.
The team’s work to protect the public was performed satisfactorily 86 per cent of the time, well above the 63 per cent average for England and Wales and beating the previous best score by one per cent.
Work to ensure the safety of young offenders met the required standards 90 per cent of the time, just below the highest score of 91 per cent. In terms of reducing reoffending the team’s work met these standards 84 per cent of the time and also well above the average score of 71 per cent.
