What is it? The 5x60 project is a healthy living initiative. Welsh pupils are taught how to write, star in and produce short films to promote sports and activities. It is part of the Welsh Assembly's work to achieve their target of 90 per cent of secondary pupils doing 60 minutes of physical activity five times a week by 2020.

A survey by the Department for Children, Schools and Families has found a high satisfaction rate among families that use children's centres. However, it revealed many weren't aware of the health services on offer. Children's centres should be an important vehicle for health services and there is plenty centres can do to ensure these are promoted to local health professionals and families.

What makes Ferndale an Eco-School? Pupils at eco-conscious Ferndale Primary were awarded the Eco-Schools green flag at the end of last year, which is a national award given to schools that are working towards becoming sustainable. The school also won the Tipton Litterwatch Environmental Schools Champion Award in summer 2008.
