Youth Services: Review widens to include workforce

Officials at the Treasury and Department for Education and Skills have issued extra questions covering areas including third sector provision, and the benefits of involving young people in designing provision, as well as the workforce.

The review has also been widened to include a prevention strand.

The call for evidence has been sent out to key partners, and published on the Treasury web site. Tom Wylie, chief executive of The National Youth Agency, said officials seem keen to find ways to bring in new players.

Responses have to be in by 15 September, giving the sector only a few weeks to gather evidence at a time of year when many people are away.
