The Department for Education and Skills (DfES) has released figures for the 16 authorities missing data in Young People Now's funding feature, published last week (YPN, 6-12 September, p14-18).
The combined data shows that youth service budgets increased from 386,534,119 in 2005-06, to 406,260,906 in 2006-07.
Susie Roberts, chief executive of the Association of Principal Youth and Community Officers, said although increasing budgets were welcome there is still a need for more transparency in the figures released by DfES. "There is a degree of cynicism from various services saying these figures aren't true," she said.
