Anne Weinstock, director of the DfES' Supporting Children and Young People Group, said: "We're starting to talk about an integrated framework for delivering services rather than a single service."
Youth Matters, published last July, said: "Through the integrated planning and commissioning of services, ranging from universally available activities to specialist support, we expect to see the development of an integrated youth support service."
Weinstock told delegates at a conference last week that the Government had learned from the Connexions experience that there are problems with a single-branded national service, and that local authorities could not be forced to retain the Connexions brand.
